"Always when I do a job, of course I think 'I´ve got to make something'. but also the process of - and good judgement in - making decisions is very important. For example, when you acess what you´re making - whether it makes you go ' great!' or it´s bad workmanship - if it looks like a bad job you have to decide what direction you should take in, there are many different ways to develop it, so you have to repeat the process of selection and decision making again and again. Graphic design has many conditions that have to be met depending on the job´s objectives, and there´s not always a definite answer. So no matter what the job is, you always have to concern yourself with that, and while you´re agonizing over it you make decisions. Of course, included in those decisions is the question of your own criteria - your perception of what is beautiful, and aptitude for that comes with the accumulation of a variety of experiences from the job and life in general" -Kazunari Hattori
